Hooded Butcherbird (Cracticus cassiscus)Black-headed, with a black throat and upper breast. Much white on back. Perches upright on an exposed high branch at forest edge.
I saw this bird near camp in Lopintol. Also in openings rainforest, gallery forest, swamp forest, edge, and gardens. Usually in pairs or small parties. Feeds on large insects, spiders, and fruit.
We can see this bird at sea level until 1.450 m. All in Papua and most satellite island.
